webservant, thank you very much for clearing that up. I did not understand/realize that you had included the mainfile.php check code into go.php and so was missing why/when it was working vs. not. Now I've got it and I will adjust my code accordingly. I'll look at some more, but my initial "gut" tells me I should just be able to check for $do_gzip_compress since it was already set in mainfile.php.
