I'm using rnv2.02.02 and a theme pack from Nukemods. Every time I change the theme from the preferences section in admin, it reverts back to fisubice. I've searched this issue on the forums here, but I'm not seeing anything pertaining to it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

THANKS!

Scott

What do you mean it 'reverts back' to fisubice? Does it actually change the theme once? Say on the next page load, and then go back to another theme on subsequent page loads?

No, it never changes at all. When I hit submit, it does nothing.

If you are logged in as both a user and as the site admin, don't forget that even though you may have changed the default theme in preferences, you will still see the theme thats set in your 'user' profile.

Maybe that's my issue...I've disabled the "themes" section in the "your account" module. I dont' want people to be able to change their theme.

When you say you've disabled the themes section, how have you done this?

Well I wouldn't have thought that would break it.

Going back to what Guardian said, were you logged in as a user AND admin when you changed it?

When you say it does nothing, when you view the page where you changed the theme (admin page), does it show the new theme selected, or the old one again? If it's the old one, then it sounds like your database did not get updated, which would lead me to believe you have failed to run a necessary SQL script or upgrade.

If it shows the new theme selected, then check the contents of the directory and make sure the files in there are not copies of the other theme. I accidentally copied the wrong files into my custom theme once, and it appeared that it wasn't changing, when in fact it was... it was just the same files were there so it didn't appear to change. heh

Just had a thought, does this only happen with the theme pack from Nukemods? For example if you select one of the stock themes that comes with RN, does that work?

No it doesn't. When u say turn on the error reporting...where should I be doing that? May sound like a dumb question...PHP or somewhere in the Nuke settings?

I'm getting confused now.
If you don't want people to change their theme why install a pack of them?
The easiest way to stop people changing the theme is to remove them all except for the one you are using as the default theme, this should automatically disable the theme selection button in the Your Account module.

If a user already has a theme preference set to one of the themes that is no longer present, then their theme will automatically change to the default theme set in preferences.

The theme pak is what they're calling a simgle theme. I want to be able to change the way the site looks, but force that single theme to everyone.

Incidentally, I've removed the fisubice theme and left the "boyz" theme & I get a white page.

Well that is to be expected because it is still pointing to the fisubice theme in your database.

I'm starting to run out of ideas now. Do you have any your account mods installed? CNBYA?

What other mods do you have installed?

Can you remember if it ever worked?

Try this:

Upload the original your account, fisubice theme and your new theme should be available and change the settings under preference again.
If this works you should comment out in modules/You_Account/navbar.php only this lines:

Quote:

if ($thmcount > 1) {
$menuimg = menuimg("themes.gif");
echo "<td width=\"10%\"><font class=\"content\">"
."<center><a href=\"modules.php?name=Your_Account&amp;op=chgtheme\"><img src=\"$menuimg\" border=\"0\" alt=\""._SELECTTHETHEME."\" title=\""._SELECTTHETHEME."\"></a><br>"
."<a href=\"modules.php?name=Your_Account&amp;op=chgtheme\">"._SELECTTHETHEME."</a>"
."</center></form></font></td>";
}
