kguske writes "Infoworld reports that Oracle will acquire Sun, without mentioning possible impacts on database competitor MySQL, which was acquired by Sun last year. Hopefully, there will be some anti-trust reviews by the US and / or EU that will give MySQL a life..."

USB Webserver
nb1 writes "usb-WebServer is nice little Web Server package that includes Apache, MySQL, PHP, and PHPMyAdmin. Much like XAMPP, NetServer and other popular Web Servers, the application is dockable to the system tray and services can be run either portably or installed as a system service. The menu items are available in the English language via the Settings tab. This application requires roughly 22.3MB for complete portable installation.

New RavenNuke (tm) themes for April
papamike writes "I think instead of submitting a news item during the month of April everytime I create and release a new theme I'm just gonna say that I will be releasing several themes this month.
Today I released a theme I call "Passion." Works equally well on IE and Firefox browsers. I didn't make a forum theme for this one because the default phpBB2 theme works well with it.

NukeSentinel(tm) Development
Effective March 22, 2009 - NukeSentinel(tm): All future Development and Ownership of NukeSentinel(tm) has been transferred to Raven at http://ravenphpscripts.com .
For personal reasons, Bob Marion has requested that I (Raven) take the reigns for any/all future development of NukeSentinel(tm). The support has always been at http://ravenphpscripts.com so nothing changes there. I have always worked closely with Bob on the both the development and support of NukeSentinel(tm) so hopefully you will not really see anything too noticeable :)

New RavenNuke(TM) Theme
papamike writes "Formal is my newest theme release designed only for RavenNuke(TM). Displays equally well on IE or Firefox. Comes with matching forums and extra graphics.
It's been pretty hectic around here, but I wanted to make sure as many members as possible know what's going on. At approximately 8:30 pm EST on Saturday, March 21 The malicious attacker deleted all backups from the backup servers within the infrastructure before deleting tables from our db server. We were alerted of the db exploitation and quickly shut down the site to prevent further damage.
WHT Data - Q&A Information
========================
What do we know about the damage done?
This attack was very deliberate, sophisticated and calculated. The attacker was able to circumvent our security measures and access via an arcane backdoor protected by additional firewall. We are still investigating the situation, but we know the attacker infiltrated and deleted the backups first and then deleted three databases: user/post/thread. We have no record or evidence that private message data was accessed. Absolutely no credit card or PayPal data was exposed.
