Glasnost: Test if your ISP is shaping your traffic
InternetSouthern writes "The goal of the Glasnost project is to make ISPs' traffic shaping policies transparent to their customers. To this end, we designed Glasnost tests that enable you to check whether traffic from your applications is being rate-limited (i.e., throttled) or blocked.
Glasnost tests work by measuring and comparing the performance of different application flows between your host and our measurement servers. The tests can detect traffic shaping in both upstream and downstream directions separately. The tests can also detect whether application flows are shaped based on their port numbers or their packets' payload.

PMCCT ... PMC Customizable Theme
RN Themespapamike writes "I haven't written about PMC Customizable theme in quite sometime. I have a description about it on my web site http://www.papamikecreations.net where you can go and become familiar with it.

Written in PHP with CSS support PMCCT doesn't resemble a Nuke theme in any way. It will let you create a theme just by filling in values in 6 configuration files. I have 95% of a theme controlled. Anyone that can design graphics can build a graphic heavy theme. Or, if you're not into graphics you can build a professional theme with a little imagination. The best thing about PMCCT is that once your theme is done it will automatically conform to W3C compliant standards.

Designers will enjoy the plug-in feature. Most everything is covered but to design a plug-in all you have to do is code your plug-in using php or html (like the buttons and google search I already included) drop it in the plug-in folder, go to the grouped.php folder and add your include statement. Pretty easy :)

Anyhow, I will be releasing it -when it's ready- along with a very in-depth tutorial. Actually the tutorial is what's holding up the release.

As always, help support RavenNuke(tm) you can do so much with it.

Mike (papamike)

PHPNukeProfessional change the history of the cms
PHP-Nukerino writes "

www.phpnukefordonkeys.com announces the development start of PHPNukeProfessional.

PHPNuke Professional is not a new version but a method that teaches how to transform your PHPNuke - any version you want to use - in a professional website in appearance and functionality.
Nobody will recognize your new site and never believe it was made with PHPNuke: sure why now is a PHPNuke Professional!

You can use any html/flash templates and no longer PHPNuke classics themes!
You can insert blocks anywhere in any module.

For more features and examples please visit this page (and click on the flag at top page to traduce).
Note: you can see a PHPNukeProfessional application also at my site www.phpnukefordonkeys.com and other, under construction, here (with a flash template).

Our project involves the release of a book or a series of videos showing step-by-step changes to be done on your PHPNuke site. We hope to produce the material by the end of the year. Stay tuned! :-)

Nuke Community, Lets get social!!
Communityfloppydrivez writes "Just recently I created a Facebook "fan page" for Clan Themes and I would love to see some other nuke communities also create one.

You can appoint admins from your Facebook friends list, share communities, and it of course is another way to interact with users.

I am not going to hold your hand through creating a page for your business, but you can find the link at the bottom left if you visit Clan Themes Fan Page. (ex "Create a Page for my Business")

Montego Retires from RavenNuke(tm) Team After Four Years of Service
Announcementsmontego writes "Yes, it is true. I, Montego, officially retired from the RavenNuke(tm) Team on April 30 of 2010. I have had a great run on this Team and with the Project. I still believe wholeheartedly in the project and will continue to support the community of RN'ers in the forums as well as in getting back to my "roots" of caring and feeding of certain *nuke modules, blocks, hacks, etc. via Montego Scripts. I have new versions of NSN Group Downloads, HTML Newsletter and other scripts in the works to bring to the community.

It has been a wonderful time with the project and various team members. I have made some really great on-line friends while on the team and have even met Raven and KGuske personally in 2009! I wish that I could have met more of the Team along the way! I have learned a lot since joining the on-line world back in 2005, when I first met with PHP-Nuke and then Raven PHP Scripts. Never been the same since! LOL.

I plan on using what little time I have for this hobby to support my growing list of non-profit (and non-paying) clients with a little left over for the above mentioned caring and feeding. While no longer a RN Team member and admin on RPS, I will forever have RN, RPS, and the Team running through my veins...

Best Regards and NOT Goodbye,
montego
